Banish that fat
Today, I went to my usual gym, rising before the cockerel at 5.00 am, to get some fat burnt and to get back home before my wife goes to work. There is always the same couple in there every morning. A fat husband and wife team that would not look out of place in that well known British comedy show "Little Brittan". The woman is fat and so is her man. They go straight into the gym without doing any running. They have a personal trainer. She looks like a pink Blancmange or giant shrimp in her pink lycra top, he looks like a giant orange in his orange exercise outfit. They puff and pant in an orgasm of exercise, as their triple chins dance and wobble. I can't understand why they don't do any running before they go to lift weights? They never look any thinner but go every day. I admire them for trying but they should at least sweat a bit before they tone and shape.

actually, training with weights is one of the best ways to loose weight. increased muscle mass makes you metabolism run at a faster sitting rate. also, the old metabolism runs at a much higher rate for hours after a good weight session (you cant just 'pussy it' so to speak) leading to more calories being burned for more hours after training, as opposed to straight cardio.
ReplyDeleteit wouldnt hurt them to throw in a 10 minute run to warm up tho. or better yet, skipping!

Lt Colombo, I'm not so sure. I think you should start with a min of 30 mins running then hit the gym. Those two don't even break a sweat. Running burns cals weights tone up. You sound a bit like a fitness instructor :-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe they fall into the category of folks who fool themselves into thinking a little exercise goes a long way. If they exercise, they figure they can continue to eat as much as they want or anything they want. Maybe their goal isn't to lose weight because some personal trainers have a philosophy of "fit at any size." I'm not buying that idea. The ones who baffle me are the people who show up at the fitness center and stand outside long enough to finish their cigarette before going inside to "work out." Why do they bother?
ReplyDeleteI agree RJ, you should see those two they are big and have been going for at least 6 months they are there early every morning. They are the same size as before.

ReplyDeleteHe is not a baby but almost two and people pushing kids while running is not so unusual but maybe it is in Russia?!?
ReplyDeleteTim (tsarpodcast) is right. Russians are prone to think you can overturn a stroller or a baby carriage, if you are moving too fast (in their opinion). The roads in this country are in a sorry state and joggers are rare to see. Especially, SAHDs.
